ADHD & ASD Screening
ADHD and ASD Screening may include screening tests, developmental history, informal diagnosis, parental and teacher observations, observations in situ, support for family, and strategies for child. A strategic approach to management of challenges.
Diagnosis of ADHD and ASD is based on number of traits and their severity. These criteria are also central to interventions. Parenting guidance for children with ADHD and ASD includes an initial session with the parents and child, or with whole the family.

A formal diagnosis of ADHD or ASD must be provided by a psychiatrist or a paediatrician. Where appropriate, a referral will be provided. Please note, medication can only be prescribed by paediatrician or psychiatrist. While formal diagnoses of ADHD and ASD and medication require a referral from a paediatrician or psychiatrist, Saplings can provide support and strategies for the child, family and educators.
Anxiety
Exploration (through talking with the child, art and play) about his/her emotions, discussions with family, teacher etc. Guidance and strategies for child, family and teachers.

For Children
Counselling and support for children experiencing challenges with anxiety, stress, school refusal, sibling relationships, and family relationships. Lindi’s approach to counselling for children is eclectic – through art, play, conversation. Parents are kept in the loop, whilst protecting the child’s confidences.

With longer-term counselling, parents are seen fortnightly, and children are seen weekly. Counselling is usually reduced to fortnightly once good progress achieved.
For Parents & Caregivers
Counselling and support for parents, caregivers and whanau of children experiencing challenges with anxiety, stress, school refusal, sibling relationships, and family relationships. Support, guidance and strategies.

Fees
Assessments
Pre-Appointment Discussion: no charge.

Assessment fees will vary according to the needs of the child. This will be explained at the time of the Pre-Appointment Discussion.
Counselling
$195.00 per hour. This including a 50-minute counselling session spent with the child, 10 minutes in record keeping and planning for the next session
School or Home Visits
$195.00 per hour, including travel time for observations and discussions. As this can be expensive a Zoom meeting may be preferred for discussions.
